A snap of a photo, a single drawing.

(I translated Korean to English with the help of AI.)

The cherry blossom season in April just ended, leaving a bit of a bittersweet feeling. The scene below is from when I was diligently going around to see the cherry blossoms. On the way back from enjoying the flowers, I took a picture. In the painting, the cherry blossoms are depicted even more richly. This is what's great about paintings compared to photos: I can stage the scene however I want.

The walking trails are undergoing major renovations in preparation for spring. The pond, which dried up during winter, is being refilled with water, and the surrounding area is being beautifully landscaped. Then, frogs and toads return to the pond. Soon, black frog (toad) eggs appear in clumps in the pond, and before long, it's teeming with an almost gross number of tadpoles. Every year, I half-doubt if the frogs (toads) will return, but they unfailingly do. It's an amazing mystery of life.

As the weather gets warmer, there are more insects around. When I'm drawing outdoors, bugs slowly crawl onto me. I used to jump up in surprise! I'm a bit less startled these days, but it's still hard to get used to bugs. Just then, a消毒 truck came into view. It had some cannon-like equipment mounted on top. I hope it helps reduce the number of bugs!
